Sympathy, empathy, compassion - terms often used in describing the work of palliative care professionals. Facing the diagnosis and prognosis of malignant or other progressive disease is difficult for both healthcare professionals and patients.

Dr. Lidija Veterovska Miljkovi, participated in the Seminar, held this year in Vienna, in the educational center in Kardinal Konig Haus, our country. Dr. Gloria Gaspar and psychologist Leontina Shakiri, who shared experiences from our institution and country.

The conclusions were that empathy is directly related to the personality of the individual, that is, the healthcare worker, but is also strongly dependent on the degree of burn-out that health care workers are increasingly faced with.
